Rhetoric Discussion

Rhetoric is persuasion and persuasion is in everything we do. It is in all that we see every advertisement we watch is trying to persuade us of something. We persuade people to portray us a certain way by the clothes we wear and the things posted on social media. Rhetoric relates to critical thinking and writing because when writing we are almost always arguing for our audience to see our side of the story. We need to understand rhetoric to properly analyze and understand what is being persuaded to us. Ethos, pathos, and logos are methods I have been analyzing in texts since high school and have noticed the impact that language and images have on an audience.
